What is Emergency Management?

Emergency Management (EM) is the process of increasing resilience in the face of natural, technological, and human-made disasters. EM addresses the prevention, mitigation of, preparation for, response to, and recovery of your business or operations from these crises or disasters. As complete prevention of a disaster or crisis is rarely possible, the other four elements become more important.

  • Recovery: Prioritize what needs to be done to get your operations back up and running after a crisis, such as replacing lost inventory, repairing damaged parts or infrastructure, and working with your insurance provider.
